The People Have Spoken
If you were lucky enough to be born in the United States, you consented to majority rule. The 2012 election is another beautiful example of this.
The current population of the United States is now over 310 million.
Of this population, approximately 230 million are old enough to vote.
During the recently completed 2012 election, 120 million votes were cast, of which almost 61 million were for the president, Barack Obama.
You can do the math on 61 million votes for Obama / 310 million citizens (or on 230 million voters if you want), but the people have spoken and Barack Obama has a clear majority.
So next time some kook says, “don’t blame me, I voted for X”, remind them that they were born in a beautiful democracy and consented to the system by voting.
